Clinical Education

We continue to serve our community as a training site for nurses and provide field placement opportunities for social work students from UNC Charlotte, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Greensboro, Queens University, Mercy School of Nursing, Winthrop University, Winston-Salem State University and the University of South Carolina. Our clinical staff mentors and coaches the students in their field placement experiences. Medical residents from Carolinas HealthCare Systems also benefit from half-day patient visits with our home care nursing staff. In 2006 we provided training and clinical experience to 22 nursing students and 16 medical residents in end-of-life care.

Below are core educational opportunities provided free of charge by Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region.  To schedule any of these sessions, or to inquire about additional educational resources we provide, please contact Marilyn Morenz, Director of Community Education at 704.335.3579.
